Description:
In 1929, Angelo Fallabrino migrated to Uruguay with his family to the city of Montevideo; he was running away from the war. Native to Alessandria in the Italian Piedmont, Angelo knew how to make great wines and he founded one of the largest wineries in Uruguay. His son Alejandro followed in his foot-steps. A brilliant wine-maker Alejandro became one of the most innovative winemakers in the Uruguayan wine industry in the 70s and 80s. Unfortunately, Alejandro died in 1991 and in 1995, Angelo died. In 1995 Pablo, one of Alejandro's three sons, took charge of the Viñedo de los Vientos vineyard and by March 1998 had built a new state-of-the-art winery where he has developed an amazing range of different wines that are unique and special.

Winery:
The Viñedo de los Vientos property has been in the Fallabrino family since 1947. With an aim to produce great wines in small quantities, in 1998, the Fallabrino family completed, an ultra modern winery with stainless steel tanks, pneumatic presses and French oak barrels. Despite these modern tools they like to make wine with forgotten or less-known old winemaking techniques. Over the past 17 years the vineyards have been completely replanted transforming the vineyards into a world class viticultural property. Viñedo de los Vientos translates into "Vineyard of the Winds" and is located where the river Plate Estuary, the largest in the world, and the Atlantic Ocean meet. This provides clean cool ocean breezes and the ideal climate for the maturation of fine wine grapes.
Vinification:
The grapes are hand picked, de-stemmed and crusted. Fermentation takes place in large stainless steel tanks. There is no Maceration on the skins and the wine does not go through any malolactic fermentation. After fermentation, the wine is cold stabilized and bottled with no aging.
Bouquet or Aromas:
The color is a brilliant pale straw, with floral notes of zucchini flowers sautéed in citrus oils. Also on the nose one will find exotic fruit notes of passion fruit and pineapple. This obscure Uruguayan blend with an added Alsacian flair denotes Uruguay's traditional winemaking style and the quality of its white wines.
Taste:
On the palate you will denote its silky white tones, accentuated by the tart passion fruit wrapped in pineapple skins. The finish is amplified with an almond cream, that matures in one's palate.
Pairings:
This is a very refreshing wine that is great for backyard socials, picnics and lawn parties. A great aperitif wine for holiday parties. Matches well with light chicken or fish dishes. Also goes well with seafood dishes or pasta with light cream sauce. This holiday make it the wine for your open house or family get-togethers.
Cheese Pairing:
Cypress Grove Humboldt Fog
